Essie Pama Nail Polish Giveaway

Happy Sunday!

For those of you that missed out on the FREE Essie Pama nail polish, you know, the one I told you about on MUA (how soon we forget)?! Well for all of you that missed out, I have a giveaway for you! Just leave a comment on this post with your NAME and EMAIL address, and you will be entered to win one bottle of Essie Pama nail polish.

Here is a swatch of Essie Pama:

It really looks a bit darker in real life. The color of Essie Pama, for those of you that do not know, was inspired by Pama pomegranate flavored liqueur. Essie and Pama teamed up to create a nail color to celebrate National Pomegranate Month which is the month of November. Well November is over, but we can still enjoy our Pama Liqueur and our Essie Pama nail polish!

Entires will be accepted until Sunday, December 7th, 11:59 pacific time. I will announce the winner sometime soon after that. Again, to enter, comment on this post leaving your NAME and EMAIL address. I write NAME and EMAIL address obnoxiously in ALL CAPS because during my last contest several people did not leave me this information, thus making it impossible for me to contact them if they were the winner. This contest is open to all friends, near and far (that means all of my international friends, enter!).

That is all for now. So comment and enter (again, name and email address please)! One entry per person.

xoxo,
Katee

p.s. For those of you on Blogger, if I can access your email through your Blogger profile, you do not need to leave it in the comments.

OPI 90210 Nail Polish Swatches

Good afternoon, lovely readers!

I am excited to be able to share with you the rest of the OPI 90210 nail polish collection. The following swatches are 2 coats of nail polish, shot in the sun, no top coat. I apologize for a few stray polish marks. Usually my clean up is meticulous but today I was going for fast rather than perfect to show these to you ASAP.

OPI Sweet As Annie-Thing!:

Red with an orange hue, I would call this a scarlet red, laced with golden shimmer. Hello perfect pedicure color!

OPI Pretty & Privilieged:

This color was my photographic nemesis! This ruby red is laced with some fairly chunky but sparsely placed magenta colored glitter. However you would never guess that from looking at my pics. I just could not get it to show up in the photos. Rats! I really like this color. p.s. as always you can click the pics to make them bigger. When you enlarge these I think you can see that magenta glitter I am talking about.

OPI Queen of West Web-erly:

I described this one as a lavender magenta laced with gold and multi color shimmer. One of my loyal blog readers, Diana, said it looks like "mauve and purple got busy". I think I like her description the best. Thanks Diana!

Overall, I am really digging these colors! Especially the reds, which is strange for me. You see, when my nail polish obsession first started, reds were way to ordinary for me. I think I thought that they were too common. But now, as my obsession deepens, I appreciate all of the different hues of red, different shimmers, glitter, etc. There are just so many unique reds that I cannot help but love them.

Well I hope you enjoyed seeing swatches of the OPI 90210 collection! These will be available for purchase in January. What do I have up my sleeve next for you? You'll never know... See you back here soon!

Sneak Peek at the OPI 90210 Nail Polish Collection

Good morning!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I certainly did. I am excited to dig into the turkey leftovers a little later. But even more than that, I am excited to give you a sneak peek at the OPI 90210 inspired nail polish collection that will be launching in January 2009.

The OPI 90210 collection is made up of three colors:
Queen of West Web-erly - Lots of blog buzz for this purple shimmer.
Sweet as Annie-thing! - Irresistible lollipop red.
Pretty & Privileged - You’re entitled to this ruby red

Today I have swatches for you of OPI Queen of West Web-erly:

The first two swatches were photographed in the sun and the last one was photographed indoors. Click on any of the pictures to make them larger.

OPI Queen of West Web-erly is a beautiul purple that is along the lines of a lavender magenta and it is laced with gold and multi colored shimmer. Indoors the golden shimmer is predominant but then outside in the sun the multi colored shimmer stands out.

I will have the other colors in the OPI 90210 collection swatched for you just as soon as the sun here in Cardiff decides to cooperate! We usually do not have cloudy weather this time of year here but the sun just won't come out today!

I am off to the mall now to do my part to stimulate the economy. Hopefully when I get back I'll be able to swatch the other two colors for you, my dear readers. If not, then tomorrow!

That is all for now. Hope to see you back soon!

Essie "Love, Beverly Hills xx" Limited Edition Nail Polish - Swatches Finally!!

Hello, dear readers!

Since I might not be able to post for a few days due to Thanksgiving and spending time with friends & family, I thought I would treat you to an extra post today. This is a very special post because it is your first look at the new Essie limited edition nail polish that is coming out in January called Love, Beverly Hills xx. As always, click the photos to make them huge! They are more fun that way :)

Essie describes Love, Beverly Hills xx as an opulent red infused with pure 24K gold.

Look at the cute box this comes in:

Here are swatches in the sun of Essie Love, Beverly Hills xx:

I find this red to be particularly stunning! It has a super glossy finish and the fine golden shimmer gives the color a lot of depth. The formula is wonderful and smooth, and also dried very fast. I required 3 coats to get rid of visible nail lines. To say the least, I really really like this red. This is going to be my go-to red for the rest of the winter!

Essie Love, Beverly Hills xx will be available January 2009 for $18 at Essie's website.

That is all for today! I hope that everyone has a safe and beautiful Thanksgiving.

Lippmann Collection - Party Like A Rockstar Set

Hello readers!

Today I have a real treat for you: the Lippmann Collection Party Like A Rockstar Set. I love love love this little set. This is the perfect size and price for an awesome stocking stuffer for you or another nail polish addict in your life.

The Lippmann Collection Party Like A Rockstar Set includes two gorgeous nail colors and the fabulous Lippmann Collection Addicted to Speed top coat, in an adorable, sparkly little bag. The sizes of these are .3 oz.

Lippmann Colllection Good Girl Gone Bad:

Gorgeous jelly plum that is packed with very fine silver and hot pink glitter. I could seriously wear this color every day. I love it that much.

Lippmann Collection Devil In A Blue Dress:

2 coats.

3 coats.

Super dark blue cream. It is almost black indoors but outdoors you can definitely tell it is a dark blue. I just love these blackened blues and this has got to be one of my favorites. I swatched this color with both 2 and 3 coats to show you that you can go either dark blue at 2 coats or more black-blue at 3 coats with this color.

Both of these nail colors are limited edition and are only available in the Party Like A Rockstar set. I love both of these so much and would love to see these added to the Lippmann Collection permanent line. The formula and application of these colors was flawless, I did not have any issues with either of these nail polishes.

Lippmann Collection Addicted To Speed: Amazing fast dry top coat. This dries as fast as my beloved Seche Vite top coat but does not have the same thick consistency that many people find difficult to work with. So if you have been looking for a quick dry top coat that is easier to work with than Seche Vite, you must pick this up. The Party Like A Rockstar set is a great excuse to try this.

The Lippmann Collection Party Like a Rockstar set retails for $24.00 and is available online at the Lippmann Collection website, Nordstrom or Bath and Body Works

The Lippmann Collection website is offering FREE SHIPPING right now on all orders, for a limited time (no end date has been published for this offer). Lippmann Collection is also offering some fabulous free gifts with purchase, also for a limited time. With your purchase of $69 or more, you will receive a free "I Will Survive" treatment set ($24 value). With your purchase of $99 or more, you will also receive a free "Helping Hand" hand warmer set ($39.50). So basically what I am telling you is that I cannot think of a better time or opportunity to head to the Lippmann Collection website now and start shopping!

That is all I have for you today. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'll see you back here soon.

Lippmann Collection - Limited Edition Holiday Nail Polishes

Hello everyone!

Today I have some lovely swatches for you from the Lippmann Collection. These are limited edition for Holiday 2008. Click on the pictures if you would like to see larger images.

First up, Lippmann Collection Icing on the Cake:

lippmann collection nail polish
Frosty light pink. This nail color is beautiful, delicate and uber feminine. I do not usually sport light colors on my tips but I will definitely reach for this one when light colors are more appropriate.

Next, Lippmann Collection Superstar:

lippmann colection superstar nail polish
Dark brown base that is absolutely loaded with coppery glitter. This color is SO HOT! Something about this color says Thanksgiving to me, and I will be sporting this for the upcoming holiday.

As always, the application of Lippmann Collection nail polishes are nearly flawless; the formula is perfect. I also just love looking at the Lippmann Collection bottles. They are the prettiest bottles on the market as far as I am concerned! So fancy and pretty, my Lippmann Collection polishes are like little treasures to me.

Lipmann Collection nail polish is available online at lippmanncollection.com, nordstrom.com and bathandbodyworks.com.

As of posting this article now, Superstar is SOLD OUT on the Lippmann Collection website but it is still available online at Nordstrom. So if you want it, get it NOW. It is limited edition and once they are gone, well, they are gone.

That is all for today, polish lovers. As always, I hope to see you back here soon.

Superstar Nail Lacquer

Good afternoon!

I am always super excited when I get to try a new brand of nail polish. I just got done swatching three nail polishes from Superstar Nail Lacquer and I am impressed! The colors are vibrant and the formula is perfect.

First, Superstar Nail Lacquer Silver Screen:

I love this! I do not own another silver like this one. This is a shimmery silver with a foil like finish. I think this would be an awesome color for New Year's Eve! This color just screams PAR-TAY!! This swatch is 2 coats.

Next, Superstar Nail Lacquer Walk the Red Carpet:

Nice red with a jelly finish that is loaded with small red glitter. Another fabulous color for the holidays! This swatch is 3 coats.

Finally, Superstar Nail Lacquer Posh Plum:

Gorgeous vampy plum cream. Went on smooth and looks fabulous on! This is my current NOTD and I really like it. This swatch is 3 coats.

Superstar Nail Lacquer is available at the Style Shoppe and retails for $8.50 per bottle.

If you would like to see more swatches, check out Vampy Varnish and Scrangie's swatches.

Essie Fall 2008 Ulta Exclusives

Hello, lovely readers!

If your Ulta is anything like mine, they have a tendency to bring out products really late. For instance, they just put out Essie Winter 2008 about a week ago at my local store and these Essie Ulta exclusives for Fall are still readily available there too. I usually do not buy nail polish at Ulta because they are full price; but what I do look for there are the Ulta exclusives, the colors that you can only buy at Ulta.

This year Essie teamed up with Ulta to release three exclusive shades for the fall: Groovy Grape, Retro Red and Plumski. Everyone has been talking about Groovy Grape but I have not heard much buzz about Retro Red or Plumski, so I thought I would share them with you.

Essie Groovy Grape:
essie groovy grape
Ok, everyone already knows about this one. Gorgeous vampy purple shimmer on a blackened base. This color is absolutely flawless.

Essie Retro Red:
essie retro red
Classic red with a jelly finish. Nothing special but if your collection is missing a red jelly, then this is a good one.

Essie Plumski:

Plum color that is very vibrant and bright. This one was the big surprise for me. I thought it only looked OK in the bottle, but on my nails I AM IN LOVE!! I don't know what it is, but this color has depth, and it complimented my skin tone perfectly. I usually only wear colors once, because I have so many and I am always getting more, but this will be one of those that I reach for more often.

Depending on how your Ulta is, these might be readily available, or they might not be. If there are any of these that you really want, maybe call a few Ulta stores on the phone before driving around. Essie/Ulta also released three exclusive shades for Winter but I skipped those because they are all red colors and I have enough of those. But if you really like reds, check those out too! Good luck polish hunting!

Nail Polish Suggestions for Darren Garnick's Next Pedicure

A few days ago, the lovely, witty and talented Boston Herald blogger Darren Garnick was brave enough to get a Fish Pedicure. Even braver than that, he chose OPI Osaka To Me Orange over a traditional buff and shine.

While I don't want to see nail polish on my boyfriend's feet, my motto is "to each their own"! I think people should be able to do whatever the heck they want, and if Darren, or any other guy for that matter, wants to wear nail polish, more power to them!

So Darren, I have come up with some unsolicited nail polish suggestions for your next pedicure.

OPI's Osaka To Me Orange was nice but I think you'd like BB Couture for Nails Tangerine Scream better:

Or how about BB Couture for Nails Poison Ivy:

If you are brave enough for some shimmer, BB Couture for Nails Blue Suede Shoes:

Or because you are so charming, BB Couture for Nails Prince Charming Blue:

Black on a guys toes is what we expect to see, but gunmetal gray is much cooler, so how about Zoya Freja:
zoya freja nail polish swatch
Darren, let me know what you think! I want to know which one you are going to try out next time. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any more suggestions.

Everyone else, go and check out full coverage on Darren's fish pedicure here. This is a MUST read!

That is all for now. Thanks for reading and see you soon!

China Glaze Romantique Spring 2009 Swatches - Part 2 - Warm Colors

Hello, dear readers!

Today I am excited to share with you the warm colors from the China Glaze Romantique Spring 2009 Collection! As you will see, I photographed the swatches in a variety of lighting scenarios to give you accurate color depiction.

china glaze romantique(l-r, Poetic, Magical, Emotion, Admire, Delight, Passion)

China Glaze Poetic:
This nail color kind of looks like a mix between rose gold and copper.

Indoor, natural light:

China Glaze Magical:
Brownish pink? Pinkish brown? Taupey? Sorry, my descriptive powers end here.

Indoor, natural light:
china glaze magicalOutdoor, full sun:
china glaze magical
China Glaze Emotion:
Bright pink, almost magenta base with silver shimmer.

Indoor, natural light:
china glaze emotion nail polishOutdoor, full sun:
china glaze emotion nail polish
China Glaze Admire:
Light pink with a purplish hue.

Indoor, natural light:
china glaze admire nail polishOutdoor, partial sun (the fog started to roll in big time at this point during the swatching):
china glaze admire nail polish
China Glaze Delight:
Coppery brown - my favorite from the warm shades!

Indoor, artificial light:
china glaze delight nail polishOutdoor, full sun:
china glaze delight nail polish
China Glaze Passion:
Dirty metallic gold - very unexpected for Spring!

Indoor, artificial light:
china glaze passion nail polish
Outdoor, partial sun:
china glaze passion nail polish
As with the cool colors from China Glaze Romantique that I posted the other day, all of these are almost completely opaque at one coat. Excellent coverage! All swatches here are 2 coats, no top coat. They also go on very smoothly, brush strokes are not a big issue.

Also, the finish is more metallic indoors and then shimmery outdoors. The colors in the Romantique collection are so chameleon like! The finish really gives these nail polishes different personalities under different lighting.

I also noticed that the metallic finish of these polishes tend to emphasize any unevenness in the texture of my nails. I swatched a few of these with the China Glaze Ridge Filler Base Coat and that effectively camouflaged any ridges and gave a nice smooth base for these polishes. I really recommend it!

I think that Delight is my hands down favorite from the warm colors. What are your favorites? Which ones are you going to get? Let me know in the comments! Again, these will be available January 2009.

That is all for today, hope to see you back soon. You know I always have more goodies to share with you :)

Katee

China Glaze Romantique Spring 2009 Nail Polish Swatches!!

Hello, dear readers!

WOW, yesterday felt like Christmas for me when the Fed Ex man dropped these off! I am super excited to be able to share with you the China Glaze Spring 2009 collection: Romantique. Today I will be sharing the cool shades with you and then later this week I will share the warm colors with you. The Romantique collection is nothing short of AH-MAZ-ING!!

China Glaze Romantique: Cool Shades

China Glaze Joy:
Gorgeous icy plum loaded with silver shimmer. Stunning.
Indoors (natural light):

China Glaze Adore:
Cool turquoise - like blue. Loving this too!

China Glaze Harmony:
Gorgeous shimmering Violet.
Indoor (artificial light):

China Glaze Devotion:
Shimmering metallic lavender. This one was the problem child as far as photography goes. The lavender base color is so loaded with shimmer that it was impossible to capture the lavender. But in person, it really is lavender!
Indoors (artificial light):
china glaze devotion nail polishOutdoors (full sun):

China Glaze Cherish:
Gorgeous sea foam green shimmer. Unfortunately another photographic problem child. I think it looks gold in these pictures but it is definitely NOT gold. It is sea foam green and it is beautiful!
Indoors (natural light):
china glaze cherishOutdoors (full sun):
china glaze cherish nail polish
China Glaze Awaken:
Metallic charcoal shimmer. Stunning!
Indoors:
china glaze awaken nail polishOutdoors (full sun):
china glaze awaken nail polish
Joy and Awaken are my two favorites from the collection, but all of them are really beautiful.

These colors are so loaded with silver shimmer, they look metallic inside and then outside in the sun they are super blingy, and have a foil like finish. AMAZING!!

All swatches are two coats of nail polish over a base coat, no top coat. All of these nail polishes went on very opaque at one coat. The formula was very smooth and as long as I took my time applying them I did not have any brush stroke issues, which can be a problem with metallics.

So which colors are you feeling the need for? Let me know in the comments (I live for your comments)!

Remember to check back later because I will have the warm colors for you to see in a few days (I have them now, just have to swatch them).

I believe that China Glaze Romantique should be available online and in stores January 2009. I will let you know if and when I hear anything different.

See you soon and THANK YOU for reading!

xoxo,
Katee
