China Glaze Romantique Spring 2009 Nail Polish Swatches!!

Hello, dear readers!

WOW, yesterday felt like Christmas for me when the Fed Ex man dropped these off! I am super excited to be able to share with you the China Glaze Spring 2009 collection: Romantique. Today I will be sharing the cool shades with you and then later this week I will share the warm colors with you. The Romantique collection is nothing short of AH-MAZ-ING!!

China Glaze Romantique: Cool Shades

China Glaze Devotion:
Shimmering metallic lavender. This one was the problem child as far as photography goes. The lavender base color is so loaded with shimmer that it was impossible to capture the lavender. But in person, it really is lavender!
Indoors (artificial light):

China Glaze Cherish:
Gorgeous sea foam green shimmer. Unfortunately another photographic problem child. I think it looks gold in these pictures but it is definitely NOT gold. It is sea foam green and it is beautiful!

China Glaze Awaken:
Metallic charcoal shimmer. Stunning!

Joy and Awaken are my two favorites from the collection, but all of them are really beautiful.

These colors are so loaded with silver shimmer, they look metallic inside and then outside in the sun they are super blingy, and have a foil like finish. AMAZING!!

All swatches are two coats of nail polish over a base coat, no top coat. All of these nail polishes went on very opaque at one coat. The formula was very smooth and as long as I took my time applying them I did not have any brush stroke issues, which can be a problem with metallics.

So which colors are you feeling the need for? Let me know in the comments (I live for your comments)!

Remember to check back later because I will have the warm colors for you to see in a few days (I have them now, just have to swatch them).

I believe that China Glaze Romantique should be available online and in stores January 2009. I will let you know if and when I hear anything different.

See you soon and THANK YOU for reading!

xoxo,
Katee

  4. they certainly do look very different indoors than they do outside. is this disparity due to the photography, or do they actually react to different lighting that way?

  8. Adore is my favorite here. Also, I like the Cherish, although I am not a "green" person. Perhaps that is something I would be willing to try. I agree that the different lighting makes all the colors look like two different colors. I liked the Awaken, but then the outdoor photo made it look like OPI Brand New Skates, which I have. And I am not a total fanatic, only a hobbyist. lol.

  9. Nixxy - Yes, aren't they beautiful?!

Psychoswim - If I told you... well you know how the rest of the saying goes :)

    Fashionista - Thank you!!

Anonymous - They look very different under indoor artificial lighting than they do outdoors. Indoors they have more of a metallic look to them and then outdoors they look super sparkly and shimmery.

Kyosuke - Thank you and glad you found me!

B - I know, I am in love with these!!

Dee - I think I am adding Adore to my favorites list too. I keep changing my mind every time I look at these about which one is my favorite. Keep reading and you'll be an addict soon enough LOL :)

Thanks everyone for your comments and for checking me out.

    xoxo,
    K

  11. Well you know how I'm a nail art nut, so the first thing I thought of when I saw these was Easter Egg nail art!

  15. All the colors look great on you. Though I am confused about these being for the spring. Maybe ChG knows something we don't but I don't usually picture those as spring colors.

  16. Sminkan - I know, aren't they great?!

Kajalpennan - You'll be able to get them soon enough :)

Hi La C - Don't pick. Get all of them!

Hailey - Thank you! Indoors the colors are much softer and some remind me of Easter egg colors. But outdoors the are definitely fierce! I think they are a nice change from normally boring spring releases, you know?
